I don't use any numbing cream and I've never tried it with a semi. The application isn't like getting a massage but it the discomfort is bearable. I do recommend the ultrasound gel, if nothing else than it makes gliding the head around easier. Here are my current settings:

90 mJ
9 HZ
4500 applications (1000 each side of the shaft and curas, 500 to glans)
35 mm applicator

Welcome Peet64. I had high hopes of TRT when I started about two-years ago, as well. When I initially began, my total T level was 323, which was low for a 39-year-old. Within six-months, it was in the 800-900 range. I always had, and still do have, hard nocturnal erections but I fell flat when the moment counted (at least without the help of a pill). My doc charged extra for the HCG so I didn't spring for that until year two, hoping for a miracle but it didn't do the trick.

Hopefully, it works for you but you can achieve the same T level by just increasing your injection and save a lot of money. My doc said that the HCG only has a real effect on 10-20% of guys. If you're not worried about a little ball shrinkage, it's not really worth the cash. I've been off HCG now for a while and can't tell the difference.

Despite not curing the ED, I don't regret starting TRT. I feel and look great, and have probably added ten pounds of muscle, although I do have deal with mild acne on my back but an antibiotic every couple months clears it up.

I'm on my third round of SWT, each has been three-weeks on followed by three-weeks of recovery. I'm also taking 5mg of Cialis daily. When taking care of business myself, things have been going great. Unfortunately, my wife has been dealing with a very serious medical condition since the beginning November so I can't report on real world results, but I'm hopeful.

In a way, ED has made me a better person. The first thing I did was start working out and running consistently, which I have stuck to for eight-years. Second, I started eating healthier food. Third, I started meditating to calm my performance anxiety. In turn, that lead to an interest in secular Buddhism, which has helped me let go of stress and desire in all areas of my life.

I suppose this is a rather long-winded way of saying there is probably not one simple answer to the suffering ED causes. It takes a holistic approach, physically and mentally. The upshot is all lessons

Has anyone experienced better results with a higher number of shocks, say 5,000 over 2,500? My natural inclination is more is better but I realize there could be harm in over doing it.

I’ve read numerous times that the average treatment takes 15 to 20 minutes, both for DYI’ers and professionals. My treatments generally just take about five-minutes. I’m giving the typical five spots (both curas, both sides of the shaft and the glans) 500 shocks each at 9HZ. Should these 2,500 shocks take longer or am I missing something?

Looks like we may have some good data in about a year. Mayo Clinic is hosting a clinical trial in Jacksonville, FL.

Sheesh, I wish there was some real science we could reference. I down regulated my protocol based on posts to 70 mJ at 10 HZ, twice weekly. I'm 12-days in and no benefit yet. Not complaining, or expecting too much, I know this is a marathon, not a sprint.

Just curious about nocturnal/morning erections. In all my research, this is apparently a sign that all is well. I still have these everyday--to the point where it is uncomfortable in the morning--but I literally have ZERO arousal with my wife. Pills don't even work with her. I still find he super attractive. Is anyone else in this same predicament?

The tech really moves the applicator around. Seems like other sources suggest keeping it more or less stationary.

Found this calculator created by a professional that may be of limited help although he's clearly using a better machine than the rest of us. If anyone has an idea how to convert "intensity" to mJ, please chime in.

This was the first article I read when researching shockwave therapy. Got me to book a consultation with the local Gainswave practitioner.

In the days leading up to my appointment, I kept researching and realized Gainswave was nothing special, just a doctor trying to squeeze a buck out of guys who don't know any better.

This article is a big business PR piece. GQ is in the business of moving magazines to affluent men and Dr. Gains is in the business of capitalizing on guys who don't want to do the research themselves. They are both selling a fictionalized hope.

As my dad told me, and I'm sure your's told you, if it's too good to be true, it probably is. Anything in life that is worth a damn takes time and commitment.

Stay the course. Don't expect too much too soon. And, never give up!

Thanks Yobro for suggesting the energy reduction, as well as suggesting the larger applicator. Based on your feedback, as well as bonerboy’s in his "Delayed Success Story,” I’m going to dial the energy back to 70 mJ and use the largest applicator I have, which is about 35 mm. I’m also going to dial back the frequency to 10 HZ. I’m not sure how critical the frequency is to the effectiveness so any insight would be appreciated.

This is day one. Once I complete the first three-week cycle, I’ll post an update in the Experience Forum.

Note: I got locked out of my original account and had to create this new one.
