I first heard about shockwave therapy when I stumbled across the below Men's Health article about GainsWave.
The author describes popping a big, spontaneous boner same day as his first treatment. He also describes using a numbing cream beforehand, presumably because GainsWave treatment would be painful without it. And his treatment itself sounds pretty intense.
I just finished my 4th DIY treatment (shooting for 6 treatments in first 3 weeks) and personally I haven't experienced anything like what this author described. No spontaneous boners, no noticeable affects on the same day. Makes me wonder if I'm missing something, or if this author exaggerated. I'm using the cheap chinese machine purchased off ebay, as reveiwed by dicklimppen, same as several others on this board.
Curious if anyone on this board had a same-day experience like this author?

This was the first article I read when researching shockwave therapy. Got me to book a consultation with the local Gainswave practitioner.
In the days leading up to my appointment, I kept researching and realized Gainswave was nothing special, just a doctor trying to squeeze a buck out of guys who don't know any better.
This article is a big business PR piece. GQ is in the business of moving magazines to affluent men and Dr. Gains is in the business of capitalizing on guys who don't want to do the research themselves. They are both selling a fictionalized hope.
As my dad told me, and I'm sure your's told you, if it's too good to be true, it probably is. Anything in life that is worth a damn takes time and commitment.
Stay the course. Don't expect too much too soon. And, never give up!

I do wonder if it would have this effect if you are a healthy male with no ED? As the writer of this article was no suffering from ED and just curious about ShockWave (or getting hits on the article). But, while I have great results, they were slow to come and very gradual.
