Re: My intense therapy

Hi I have a question. A friend bought the Gainswave Shockwave ESWT PTO machine.  There is an option shown in the user manual to use P (Professional) Mode or C (Comfortable) Mode.  How do you switch between one and the other?  Is it a toggle type of button (switches between one and the other each time you push)r?  I don't have access to the machine so I cannot check it myself.  If anyone knows I'd appreciate the info - thanks.

Re: My intense therapy

Yes the .09 mj/mm2 was for the ed1000 studies which is the machine that is dedicated ed treament and aproved for such in canada where I live (I had a round of treatments with it ) but the is focused shock wave machine and from what I can tell all of the home machines are radial shockwave even though some claim to be focused.  Gains wave is using a normal radial wave machine so the energy setting is higher. So if those numbers for the gains wave machine are correc that would be the best level to use. If anyone wants the full study with treatment protocal that shows how they found the ideal levels for the focused shock waves I can email it. I cant post here

Re: My intense therapy

The difference between radial and focused isn't something to be concerned about. See the citations in this post:

Re: My intense therapy

Its probably true that makes little or no difference for our purposes its just the .09 energy level often quoted is from studies with purpose-built ED machines using focused shock waves. There are 3 built only for ED that I know of and they all use focused shock waves.  People seem to be getting good results from gainswve and they use non-purpse built radial wave machines.  There are tons of studies using focused waves not really any using radial waves.  Right now there is a huge study using radial wave with gains wave.  The guys at medispec did some really good studies its all in a presentation I have.  They tried different energy levels and number of shocks and measured response.  The n  Neovascularization confirmed ny biopsy and angiogenic markers(VEGF,eNOS) peaked at 4 weeks and returned to baseline by 12 weeks. Based on that I have a theory that one treatment a month might be a good as a maintenance dose. Its amazing how well this does work though they have studied it for cardiac rehabilitation and it works for that too. In that case they really need the focused wave to target the exact area using imaging.  I will be buying a radial wave machine myself so I am not trying to say radilal waves dont work.  I will also be trying a peptide that targets your vascular system at the same time.

Re: My intense therapy

I'm leaving my input and anyone please feel free to jump in. I have had my machine for at least 2 years now. I realized I had alot of issues going on. High cholesterol,  high BP, no exercise etc.
I did some pneumatic treatments at least 3 years ago. I had so many negative factors going on that any gains were temporary.  I did notice that their settings were about 2.5 bars and 12-15hz. I bought my machine shortly after that and cranked it up to over 4 bars, thinking more is better. The tool went dormant typically.  I gave up on it.
After 9 months of exercise and diet changes, I was ready to try again. I had been experiencing significant night time woodies without any treatment. Lost the spare tire and at least 30 lbs.
I went to a clinic that did focal shockwave which is electric shock, not pneumatic.  Pricey but I did notice good improvement after a few treatments.  Their settings were different.  2.5 bars, 90 mj, and about 4hz. Very low settings from previous use. After that experience and reading this forum, I decided that less might be better. Any dormancy was typically just a few days after treatment.
I read an article that mixing focal with the radial (pneumatic) was very effective.  After 4 focal treatments at clinic, I pulled out the home machine.  1 to 2 treatments per week for another 3-4 weeks. Settings 2.5-3 bars, 4-6hz. Much lower than before.  Seemed to see immediate continued improvement wo the major dormancy. Maybe just a day or two. 1500-2000 hits each side and 1k on crua. I set crua up a little higher 3.5 bars and 6 hz.
I am now taking low level cialis and taking a break for 6 weeks? I will go back to the mixed treatments after the break. The situation is better. I think I can probably get it done with good dose of viagra. Night erections are significant and consistent.
Any one with further experience on settings at this point? I'm curious as to the break time length and what happens during that break. Do you see continued improvement? Any change in settings on a second round recommended?
I did notice your hz setting is much higher than mine - your hz setting is much more like the first clinic I visited years ago.
I will continue to post. I am just starting the 6 week break now. I will start treatments up again in mid to late January
Thanks all. The posts here about settings were of great help.

Re: My intense therapy

I'm picking up from the last post. I gave up self shockwave for a few weeks and also stopped the daily cialis. Good blood flow remains and consistent overnight wood. Am able to jerk off wo boosters.
All of this was supported in the last year by loss 0f 40lbs, limiting sugar, exercise etc. Almost one year ago to the day, I was at my worst. No erection,  even with drugs.
I recently had very successful intercourse with use of 20mg cialis. Only the 2nd time in the last year.
Starting up this week with another round of clinic based shockwave for 6 weeks. Once a week. Found a low cost Groupon. Will go from there.
Frankly, I'm shocked that it all worked. One key as far as shockwave succes is the lower settings and the rest period. I made many mistakes on my own but nothing would have been permanent without the lifestyle changes.
Good luck all.

Re: My intense therapy

Went to first clinic treatment.  Very fast, 17hz. 3 bars. 90mj. I have seen the hz setting discussed here. At home have been using 5hz. 3 bars.
Light pressure on the application

Re: My intense therapy

I tried to replicate the 17hz treatment at home. Machine can't do 17hz effectively. It has the setting but feels like nothing on skin. I think the home machine max is 8-10hz.
I did feel the difference at clinic with 17hz.
