Kegels and Venous Leakage

Pelvic floor exercise versus surgery in the treatment of impotence.Claes H=0.8461em1, Baert L.Author information AbstractA group of 150 consecutive male patients with erectile dysfunction and proven venous leakage were randomised either to surgery or to a pelvic floor training programme. The operative procedure consisted of dissection and removal of the deep dorsal vein of the penis and its tributaries or large veins that drain into the internal or external pudendal system. The training programme was given 5 times, in weekly sessions, and the patients were supervised by trained physiotherapists. Surgery was not superior to the pelvic floor training programme either subjectively or objectively. Moreover, a significant improvement was found following the training programme; 42% were satisfied with the outcome and refused surgery. Pelvic floor exercise is a realistic alternative to surgery in patients with mild degrees of venous leakage.

The above is quoted from a medical article, the reason why I posted is due to it suggesting a 3 pronged approach to battling ED.
As we age all our muscles tend to get softer the pelvic floor include so that has to be addressed as well.
So I think cardio vascular health , pelvic floor strength and the wonderful shockwave therapy should all be used...So far so good for me.

.

On the one hand, doctors don't do vein stripping anymore because it didn't work, so the fact that kegels weren't any better than the surgery, that wasn't good either, isn't very encouraging. On the other hand, if kegels give some kind of improvement, it shouldn't hurt to try it.

Thanks for this information Groovin 1!
